Photo trip through the Cultural landscape and Nature Ecosistems in the southern side of the Black Forest

The Black Forest, is a mountain region located in the state of Baden-Württemberg, southwestern of #Germany. Is not only the Land of "Hansel and Gretel" and "Snow White", Cuckoo clocks or gothic castles. This vast forested mountain range is source of 2 important rivers: the Danube and Neckar. The highest summits ist the Feldberg (1,493 meters), and from here it is possible to do winter sport, hiking and of course Nature Photography.

There are many different routes, #Hikes and #walks in the Black Forest through many natural beauty with charming and time-forgotten villages. Some beautiful places are located in Höllental (Hell's Valley) like the villages of Hintersarten, Titisee and the route between Todtnau, Präg and Todtmoos.

There are some excellent walking trails making it easy to explore the landscape and take nature photos on foot. One of my favorite trails is around the Feldberg (1.493 meters) the highest summit in the Black Forest. From #Freiburg im Breisgau by Train (#Höllentalbahn/Deutsche Bahn, www.bahn.de) takes about 45 minutes (21 km) to Felberg-Bärental, through the beautiful Village of Titisee. From Bärental to Feldberg-Ort take about 10 minutes by Bus.

One famous walk, is the trail from Feldberg-Ort (A) to Feldsee and Feldberg-Bärental (B)/ Train station). Is 7,5 km long and takes just about 2h 20 minutes to hike. You don’t have to hike all the way to Bärental, just walk around Feldsee, look back, and you’ll be rewarded with the most beautiful scenery. Then Hike up to Feldberg-Ort or take the trail to Caritashaus.

Some pictures around Felberg and Feldsee

Around the Feldberg, multiple species can be found, such as the (now rare) Capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus), The alpine newt (Ichthyosaura alpestris), Chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra), Eurasian pygmy owl (Glaucidium passerinum) or the The Eurasian eagle-owl (Bubo bubo).

One of my favorite species is the "Fire salamander" (Salamandra salamandra). In the Black Forest, they are most commonly found at altitudes between 250 meters and 1,000 meters. With a size of 14 to 20 centimeters, the fire salamander is one of the largest native tailed amphibians in Germany. The typical habitat of the fire salamander are damp mixed deciduous forests of the low mountain ranges. Here the species needs clean and cool spring streams, spring pools, and small bodies of spring water. The species is less common in coniferous forests

"The Forest die. The threat of death in the forest concerns us all. The ecological common good is at stake. We all drink the same water. we all breathe the same air. There is nature's right to breathable air and drinkable air. To understand the water as an elementary, vital human right."
